Quote for writing a book (ghostwriting)Views: 524

Wot's... Uh The Deal (Vijai)
Hi,
I'm this close to writing a book (but need to provide a quote) that would speak about the success (using some product case studies as is typical) of a fairly large company, it's founder, human resource planning etc. and how this has helped it become a success.
Since this is my first time writing a book (150 odd pages), I would like to hear from published authors, as to how one goes about quoting for ghostwriting. I'd definitely get a mention inside, but the book as such would appear to have been penned by the founder of the company.
I know "depends on the company" most probably would be one of the factors to consider. Beyond that, any methodology or practice that will help me formulate a quote? Any real life experiences? I estimate about 5-6 months of research and planning.
Thanks.

Vijai,

Using quotes must not only include the author,
but try to include particularly illuminating
passages (which may be just parts of sentences)
into analytical sentences of your own.

Avoid merely quoting a whole sentence or, worse,
multiple sentences after your own sentences.
I consider gratuitous use of quotes as “filler.”

Ah, it seems there was scope for misinterpretation in my post.
By quote I meant, how much should I charge for the book-writing exercise. What are the fees for ghostwriting a corporate story in book form?
But thanks for the reply, it definitely won't go unheeded!
